Baszta Pasamoników w Krakowie

Baszta Pasamoników to jedna z trzech w pełni zachowanych wież w obrębie dawnych murów miejskich Krakowa, obok baszt Cieśli i Stolarzy.

Zbudowana w stylu gotyckim na kamiennej podstawie, baszta ma trzy kondygnacje. Na parterze znajduje się kasa wstępu, na pierwszym piętrze okresowe wystawy, a na drugim piętrze sala filmowa. Górna część baszty jest pokryta czerwoną dachówką i posiada nieregularny kształt zbliżony do stożka.

Baszta była pierwotnie elementem obronnym Bramy Floriańskiej od wschodu i podlegała opiece cechu pasamoników. W XIX wieku, wraz z resztą murów miejskich, zagrożona była rozbiórką. Dzięki interwencji prof. Feliksa Radwańskiego udało się ją ocalić. Ważnym argumentem, który podał, była konieczność ochrony przed wiatrami i zniszczeniem środowiska.

Po gruntownej renowacji w 2003 roku, baszta stała się częścią Trasy Turystycznej Mury Obronne. Motyw baszty został także uwieczniony na witrażu w Katedrze św. Mikołaja we Fryburgu, który przedstawia męczeństwo św. Barbary.
