Muzeum Etnograficzne im. Marii Znamierowskiej-Prufferowej w Toruniu

Muzeum Etnograficzne im. Marii Znamierowskiej-Prufferowej powstało w Toruniu w 1959 roku dzięki inicjatywie Marii Znamierowskiej-Prüfferowej. Placówka, zlokalizowana w zabytkowym budynku dawnego arsenału artyleryjskiego, prowadzi działalność edukacyjną, wydawniczą i artystyczną, organizując kiermasze sztuki ludowej i koncerty tradycyjnej muzyki. Początkowo muzeum obejmowało swoim zakresem region północnej Polski, posiadając 5 tys. eksponatów. Z czasem zbiory rozrosły się do około 68 tys. obiektów, obejmując całe terytorium Polski.

W 1960 roku otwarto wystawę o kulturze materialnej regionu, a w 1969 roku udostępniono Park Etnograficzny. W latach 1985–1988 przeniesiono 18 budowli do parku w Kaszczorku, poszerzając ekspozycję plenerową. Muzeum od 1980 roku obejmuje także magazyny oraz dodatkowe budynki przy ul. Rabiańskiej. W 1999 roku placówce nadano imię założycielki, Marii Znamierowskiej-Prüfferowej. Dziś muzeum jest jednym z najważniejszych ośrodków promujących kulturę ludową i etnografię w Polsce.
